Research & Development Leader
Bio: Born in 1960, Burak Gökçelik started his career 31 years ago at Ford Otosan, rising to his current position of Assistant General Manager responsible for Product Development in 2016. He started out his career as a Process Engineer in 1988, and held several positions before progressing to become a Supervisor in Tool & Die Design. His first management role began in 1998 when he became Body Engineering Manager, before moving on to become Chief Program Engineer for Cargo Trucks. He moved into Manufacturing in 2004, becoming the Plant Manager at İnönü for Powertrain Manufacturing and Truck Assembly Facilitation. After a three years assignment as the Engineering Director for Commercial Vehicles in Ford of Europe, he returned to Ford Otosan in his current role. He achieved Mechanical Engineering Masters Degree from Ruhr-Universitiat, Bochum, Germany in 1987. This was followed by an Executive MBA Degree from Koç University, İstanbul in 1995. He speaks English and German to an advanced level.
